Charles Brownlow commissioned the celebrated Scottish architect William Henry Playfair to design and build a grand residence overlooking Lurgan. This became Brownlow House — a symbol of power, elegance, and influence. Just a few years later, in 1839, Charles was elevated to the peerage as the 1st Baron Lurgan, cementing his family’s place in Irish history.
